The BALAX 40065-010 is a spiral flute tap designed for blind hole threading in a wide range of materials. Built from M42 powdered metal with a bright, uncoated finish, it features a 45-degree helix angle and a fast flute style that efficiently evacuates chips up and out of the hole during cutting. The modified bottoming chamfer allows threading close to the bottom of a blind hole. With an H5 thread limit and right-hand flute direction, this tap produces accurate 10-24 UNC threads in production and maintenance environments. It is installed by machinists, tool and die makers, and skilled tradespersons working with tapping equipment or hand tools.
