The BALAX 19012-000 is a thread forming extension tap designed for cutting M12 x 1.75 metric coarse internal threads in blind and through holes. Unlike cutting taps, thread forming taps displace material rather than remove chips, producing stronger threads with a burnished finish. This tap features a bottoming chamfer for threading close to the bottom of blind holes, a 6 inch overall length suited for deep or hard-to-reach applications, and a 1 inch thread length. Manufactured from high-speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, it carries a 6H class of fit and a D12 thread limit.
