The BALAX 18595-010 is a thread forming extension tap designed for cutting metric coarse internal threads in materials where cold-forming is preferred over chip-cutting. It produces M8 x 1.25 threads to a 4H class of fit, with a bottoming chamfer that allows threading close to the bottom of a blind hole. Built from high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this tap measures 4 inches overall length and carries a 1.125-inch thread length, making it well-suited for reaching into recessed or deep-pocket work that standard-length taps cannot access.

This extension tap is used in metalworking applications where reach is a constraint, such as machining fixtures, assemblies with deep bosses, or components requiring threads near a hole bottom.
