The BALAX 02210-000 is a thread forming pipe tap designed to cut NPTF-standard internal threads in soft metals without generating chips. Unlike cutting taps, thread forming taps cold-form the material, producing stronger threads with better surface finish. This tap is sized for 1/8-27 NPTF pipe threads and is manufactured from high speed steel with a bright finish. It measures 2.125 inches in overall length with a 0.75-inch thread length and a 0.4375-inch shank diameter. The square drive measures 0.328 inches for secure wrench engagement.
