The AU-VE-CO PRODUCTS 2089 is a rectangular speed nut designed for fast, tool-free engagement with 6-32 threaded fasteners in sheet metal and panel assembly applications. Stamped from spring steel and finished in black phosphate, this nut clips onto a panel edge or slot and accepts a mating screw without requiring access to the backside of the assembly. The spring tension holds the nut in position during installation, speeding up production and service work. At 0.01 pounds per piece, it is a lightweight hardware component suited for high-volume fastening tasks across HVAC cabinets, electrical enclosures, and similar light-gauge sheet metal structures.
Speed nuts of this type are commonly used in residential and light commercial HVAC equipment panels, electrical junction boxes, control panel assemblies, and ductwork access doors where repeated service access is required. Technicians installing or replacing control boards, blower covers, or access panels will find this nut useful for securing screws into thin sheet metal without a nut driver on the reverse side. The rectangular form factor positions the nut in slotted or punched openings common in factory-built equipment.
Designed for use with 6-32 threaded fasteners in inch-measurement systems. Suitable as a replacement or supplemental speed nut for sheet metal panel assemblies in HVAC equipment, electrical enclosures, and similar light-gauge fabrications that use 6-32 screw hardware.
Speed nuts are installed by hand or with light plier pressure, snapping onto a panel edge or into a punched slot before driving the mating screw. Power down or de-energize any equipment before accessing internal panels or enclosures. No special tools are required, but care should be taken not to over-torque the mating screw, as excessive force can flatten the spring and reduce clamping effectiveness. Follow applicable NEC or equipment manufacturer guidelines when servicing electrical enclosures.
