The AU-VE-CO PRODUCTS 17975 is a nylon panel rivet designed to secure hood insulation blankets in automotive applications. This push-in style retainer clips into pre-drilled panel holes and holds insulation matting flat against the hood inner panel, preventing flutter, sagging, and heat transfer into the engine compartment. Constructed entirely from nylon, the fastener resists corrosion and will not scratch painted or finished surfaces during service. Automotive technicians and body shop professionals install these retainers during hood insulation replacement or when original retainers are broken or missing.
This retainer is used wherever hood insulation is fastened to the underside of a vehicle hood panel. It suits typical automotive service scenarios including routine insulation replacement, restoration work, and collision repair reassembly. The nylon construction handles repeated thermal cycling without becoming brittle under normal engine compartment heat conditions. These retainers are sold at a minimum order quantity of 50 units, making them suitable for shop stock and fleet maintenance programs.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement panel rivet for automotive hood insulation applications where push-in nylon retainers are used.
Installation is performed by automotive technicians using standard hand tools or a trim removal kit. Ensure the mounting hole in the hood panel is clean and free of debris before pressing the retainer into place. Do not use power tools to drive nylon rivets, as over-driving will crack the retainer body. Replace any broken or deformed retainers rather than reusing them to ensure secure insulation fitment.
