The AU-VE-CO PRODUCTS 14486 is an aluminum peel-style blind rivet designed for fastening applications where access to only one side of the workpiece is possible. With a 1/4-inch body diameter and a dome head measuring 1/2 inch across, this rivet installs using a standard blind rivet tool and a 1/4-inch drill. The peel design allows the mandrel to split the rivet body into legs on the blind side, spreading load across a wider area than a standard open-end rivet. The steel mandrel provides reliable pull strength during installation. Sold in a pack of 25, this SKU suits trade professionals needing a reliable one-sided fastening solution for sheet metal, HVAC panels, ductwork brackets, and similar light-gauge assemblies.
This rivet is suited for residential and light commercial applications where technicians must fasten materials from a single access point. Common install scenarios include securing HVAC cabinet panels, duct flanges, electrical enclosure covers, and general sheet metal assemblies. The minimum grip range starts at 9/64 inch and extends to a maximum grip of 3/16 inch, making it appropriate for thin to medium sheet material stacks. The uncoated aluminum body is compatible with standard aluminum and galvanized sheet stock commonly found in HVAC and related trade work.
Designed as a standard peel blind rivet for use in applications requiring a 1/4-inch pilot hole and a grip range of 9/64 inch to 3/16 inch, compatible with aluminum, steel, and galvanized sheet assemblies typical in HVAC, electrical, and plumbing enclosure work.
Install using a manual or pneumatic blind rivet tool rated for 1/4-inch body rivets. Drill the pilot hole to 1/4 inch before inserting the rivet. Ensure the material stack falls within the 9/64-inch to 3/16-inch grip range before pulling the mandrel - installing outside the grip range reduces clamp force and can cause joint failure. Wear eye protection during installation, as the mandrel stem ejects at the completion of the pull.
