The AU-VE-CO PRODUCTS 10666 is a spring steel extruded tapped hole U nut designed for No. 8 screw applications. This U nut clips onto sheet metal panels or brackets, providing a reliable threaded attachment point without welding or secondary operations. It accommodates material thickness from 0.025 to 0.035 inches and features a black phosphate finish for corrosion resistance. The 11/32-inch center-to-edge dimension allows consistent positioning near panel edges. Fabricators, HVAC installers, and electrical contractors use this type of fastener when assembling sheet metal enclosures, control panels, and equipment cabinets where access to the back side of the panel is restricted.
This U nut is suited for light-gauge sheet metal assemblies in residential and commercial applications. Common installation scenarios include HVAC equipment cabinets, electrical enclosures, and ductwork access panels where a captive threaded fastener is needed. The extruded tapped hole design provides more thread engagement than a standard stamped U nut, making it appropriate where pull-out resistance and thread integrity matter. This item is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 100 pieces.
Designed for use with No. 8 screws on light-gauge sheet metal panels ranging from 0.025 to 0.035 inches thick, typical of HVAC equipment enclosures and electrical panel assemblies.
Installation does not require specialized tools - the U nut clips onto the panel edge or into a pre-punched slot before the mating screw is driven. Power down any electrical enclosure or HVAC equipment completely before servicing panels where these fasteners are being installed or replaced. Verify screw length is appropriate for the combined thickness of the material and nut to avoid thread stripping. Follow applicable NEC or equipment manufacturer guidelines when fastening within electrical enclosures.
