The ATCO RUBBER PRODUCTS 15218 is a galvanized sheet metal wye fitting used in residential and light commercial ductwork systems. This wye branches a single main duct into two outlets, allowing airflow to be split and directed to multiple zones or registers. With a 7-inch main inlet, a 5-inch branch, and a 4-inch branch, this fitting is sized for common trunk-to-branch transitions in forced-air HVAC applications. Licensed HVAC technicians and sheet metal installers use this type of fitting during new duct installations and retrofit projects.
This fitting is suited for residential forced-air heating and cooling systems where a main supply trunk must branch into smaller distribution runs. The 7 x 5 x 4 inch configuration handles typical residential airflow distribution requirements. It is installed in supply or return ductwork where splitting a run is required to serve multiple rooms or registers in a single zone layout.
Designed as an OEM-style sheet metal wye for use in residential and light commercial forced-air duct systems with standard round duct connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or qualified sheet metal installer in accordance with local mechanical codes and SMACNA ductwork standards. Power down the air handling unit and verify the system is not pressurized before beginning duct modifications. Secure all connections with sheet metal screws and seal joints with UL 181-rated mastic or foil tape to maintain system efficiency and prevent air leakage. Support the fitting per local mechanical code requirements to avoid stress on adjoining duct sections.
