The ATCO RUBBER PRODUCTS 13602418 is an 18-inch diameter, R6-insulated flexible air duct in the 30 Series product line, supplied in a 25-foot length with a silver metallized outer jacket. It is designed for low-to-medium operating pressure air distribution in residential and light commercial HVAC systems. The inner core is air-tight and built to handle standard supply and return air applications. The outer jacket is constructed from a tri-directional fiberglass scrim reinforced, metallized polyester material, providing both durability and radiant barrier performance. Licensed HVAC technicians and sheet metal contractors are the primary installers of this product.
The 13602418 flexible duct is suited for use in residential forced-air heating and cooling systems as well as light commercial HVAC installations where flexible ductwork is appropriate. It fits trunk-to-register runs, plenum connections, and other low-to-medium pressure distribution applications. The R6 insulation value makes it appropriate for unconditioned spaces such as attics and crawlspaces where thermal performance requirements are elevated. This product falls under the Atco 036 series designation, which is noted for increased insulation over the base 030 series for superior thermal performance.
Listed under the Atco 036 series (part number reference 036BRF). Compatible with standard 18-inch duct collars, take-offs, and flex duct connectors used in residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC systems. Part of the Atco 030, 036, and 031 UL 181 Class 1 Air Duct product family.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with SMACNA flexible duct installation standards and local mechanical codes. The air handling unit and associated electrical circuits must be powered down before connecting or repositioning ductwork. Avoid sharp bends and compression of the flexible core, as reduced cross-section significantly increases static pressure drop and degrades airflow performance. Secure connections at both ends with code-approved draw bands and mastic or UL 181B-listed tape.
