The ASSOCIATED SPRING RAYMOND R12-038 YE is a nitrogen gas spring designed for precision force applications in tooling, dies, and industrial fixtures. It features a 0.472-inch body diameter, a 1.5-inch maximum stroke, and delivers 164 lbf at full stroke with an initial charge pressure of 2,600 psi. The yellow color coding aids quick identification in multi-spring tooling setups. With a compact 3.07-inch body length and 4.65-inch overall length, this gas spring fits tight die spaces while maintaining consistent, reliable force output throughout the stroke cycle. It is typically installed by tooling engineers, die makers, or industrial maintenance technicians.
This nitrogen gas spring is suited for stamping dies, metal forming tooling, injection mold strippers, and similar industrial press applications where controlled return force or blank-holder pressure is required. The M6 mounting hole thread provides a secure, standardized attachment point. The spring operates reliably across a temperature range of 0 degrees F to 176 degrees F, making it appropriate for demanding production environments. Its self-contained nitrogen charge eliminates the need for external pneumatic connections at the press.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct application nitrogen gas spring for industrial tooling, stamping dies, and fixture assemblies requiring a 12 mm diameter, 38 mm stroke gas spring with M6 mounting thread.
Installation is typically performed by tooling engineers or qualified die maintenance technicians following the press builder and die designer specifications. Always fully depressurize or confirm the spring is safely constrained before removing it from a die set, as the nitrogen charge is under significant pressure. Mounting threads should be engaged to full depth without cross-threading; use appropriate M6 tooling to seat the spring securely. Do not attempt to recharge or disassemble the sealed nitrogen cartridge in the field.
