The ASSOCIATED SPRING RAYMOND 206-820 is an extra-strong die spring designed for use in stamping dies, metal forming tooling, and heavy-duty industrial press applications. Built from chromium alloy steel with a trapezoidal wire cross-section, it delivers a maximum deflection load of 10,112 newtons across 32 millimeters of travel to solid. The spring has a free length of 6 inches, a hole diameter of 50 millimeters, and a rod diameter of 25 millimeters. Its yellow color coding conforms to ISO 10243 standards for the extra-strong duty rating, allowing quick identification during die setup and maintenance.
This spring is suited for high-load tooling environments such as progressive dies, compound dies, and heavy blanking or forming press setups. Extra-strong duty springs are selected when standard or heavy-duty springs do not provide adequate resistance, particularly in applications requiring consistent return force under repeated cycling. Tool and die makers, press operators, and maintenance technicians typically source this part for new die builds and worn-spring replacements in manufacturing facilities.
Designed as an ISO 10243 standard die spring replacement for tooling applications requiring a 50 mm hole diameter, 25 mm rod diameter, and 6-inch free length in the extra-strong duty class.
Die springs are installed and serviced by tool and die makers or press maintenance technicians. Always relieve all press pressure and lock out the ram before removing or replacing die springs. Inspect the mating pocket diameter and guide rod diameter against the spring specifications before installation to ensure proper fit and prevent buckling. Replace springs in complete sets when possible to maintain even load distribution across the die.
