The ASSOCIATED SPRING RAYMOND 206-716 is a heavy-duty die spring designed for use in stamping dies, press tooling, and industrial mold assemblies. This extra-strong-duty spring features a trapezoidal wire cross-section, which provides a higher load capacity per unit of free length compared to round-wire designs. With a free length of 4.5 inches (102 mm) and a rod diameter rating of 20 mm, it delivers a maximum deflection load of 1,642.45 pounds (7,306 N) at full travel to solid. The yellow color coding follows ISO 10243 standards, identifying this spring as an extra-strong-duty grade at a glance on the shop floor.
This die spring is used in metal stamping, injection molding, and precision tooling applications where consistent, repeatable spring force is required. It mounts over a guide rod with a 20 mm diameter and seats inside a hole with a 40 mm diameter. Maximum deflection travel is 26 mm (approximately 1.02 inches). Suitable for use in both OEM die builds and replacement tooling maintenance programs. Installation is typically performed by tool and die makers, press technicians, or maintenance machinists working in metal fabrication or plastics manufacturing environments.
Designed as an ISO 10243 standard die spring replacement for stamping dies, mold bases, and press tooling assemblies requiring a 40 mm hole diameter, 20 mm rod diameter, extra-strong-duty yellow-grade spring with a 4.5-inch free length.
Installation is performed by qualified tool and die makers or press maintenance technicians. Always de-energize and lock out the press or molding machine before removing or installing die springs. Inspect the guide rod and spring pocket for burrs, wear, or dimensional deviation before seating the new spring. Never compress a die spring beyond its rated maximum deflection, as exceeding travel to solid will cause premature fatigue failure.
