The ASSOCIATED SPRING RAYMOND 206-204 is a heavy-duty die spring engineered for use in stamping dies, press tooling, and industrial machinery applications. Built from chromium alloy steel with a trapezoidal wire cross-section, this spring delivers consistent load performance across repeated compression cycles. It has a free length of 1 inch (25 millimeters), a rod diameter of 6.30 millimeters, and a hole diameter of 12.50 millimeters. The yellow color coding indicates its load class, allowing technicians to quickly identify and replace springs by rating during die maintenance. Licensed toolmakers, die setters, and maintenance mechanics are the primary installers of this component.
This die spring is suited for use in punch and die assemblies, stripper plates, and spring-loaded tooling fixtures in manufacturing and metal fabrication environments. The 206-204 is designed for applications where consistent spring rates and defined travel-to-solid limits are critical to tool performance and part quality. With a maximum deflection of 6.20 millimeters and a spring rate of 334.04 N/mm, it fits compact tooling envelopes where precise force control is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement die spring for stamping dies, press tooling, and spring-loaded fixtures requiring a 12.50 millimeter hole diameter, 6.30 millimeter rod diameter, and 1 inch free length per ISO 10243 specifications.
Die springs are installed and replaced by toolmakers, die setters, or qualified maintenance personnel during die service or rebuild. Always de-energize and lock out the press before servicing any tooling or spring components. Verify rod and hole diameters against the tooling drawing before installation to confirm proper fit. Do not compress the spring beyond its rated maximum deflection, as exceeding travel-to-solid load can cause permanent set or premature failure.
