The ASSOCIATED SPRING RAYMOND 205-305 is a heavy-duty die spring engineered for use in stamping dies, molds, and tooling applications where consistent, reliable load performance is required. It features a trapezoidal wire shape that delivers higher load capacity and longer service life compared to round-wire springs of the same size. With a free length of 1.25 inches (32 millimeters) and a maximum deflection of 9.60 millimeters, this spring provides a spring rate of 301.50 N/mm and a maximum deflection load of 506.90 N. The chromium alloy steel construction and red color coding identify it as a heavy-load-class spring. Die makers, tooling engineers, and press maintenance technicians are the primary installers.
This die spring is suited for use in progressive dies, compound dies, injection molds, and similar precision tooling setups in both production and job-shop environments. The 8.00-millimeter rod diameter and 16.00-millimeter hole diameter allow straightforward integration into standard die sets. Applications span automotive stamping, metal fabrication, and plastics tooling where repeatable spring performance across high cycle counts is critical.
Designed as a standard replacement or original-equipment die spring for tooling applications requiring an ISO 10243-compliant heavy-load spring with an 8.00 mm rod diameter, 16.00 mm hole diameter, and 32 mm free length.
Die springs are installed by tooling technicians or die makers during die assembly or scheduled tooling maintenance. Always de-energize the press and relieve any stored mechanical energy before removing or installing springs. Springs should be seated squarely on the rod or in the pocket to prevent side loading, which accelerates fatigue. Replace springs in matched sets when possible to maintain even load distribution across the die.
