The ASSOCIATED SPRING RAYMOND 204-418 is a heavy-duty die spring engineered for use in stamping dies, molds, and precision tooling applications. Built from chromium alloy steel, this spring features a trapezoidal wire shape that delivers a higher load capacity in a compact cross-section compared to round-wire alternatives. The spring carries a free length of 4.5 inches (115 mm), a rod diameter of 10 mm, and a hole diameter of 20 mm. With a maximum deflection of 43 mm and a maximum deflection load of 778.30 N, it is suited for medium-to-high load die applications. The blue color designation indicates its load class per standard die spring coding. Licensed machinists, tool and die makers, and industrial maintenance technicians are the typical installers.
This die spring is used in metal stamping dies, injection molds, and punch press tooling where consistent spring force and long cycle life are required. The 20 mm hole diameter and 10 mm rod diameter make it compatible with standard ISO 10243 die spring pocket and rod configurations. It is appropriate for both light production and high-cycle industrial tooling environments. The trapezoidal wire profile allows more material in the coil cross-section, which extends fatigue life under repeated compression cycles common in production stamping.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit option for ISO 10243-compliant die spring applications requiring a 20 mm hole diameter, 10 mm rod diameter, and 115 mm free length in the blue (medium) load class.
Die springs are installed by tool and die makers or qualified industrial maintenance personnel. Before replacing a die spring, de-energize all press equipment and relieve any stored mechanical energy in the tooling. Confirm the pocket diameter, rod diameter, and free length match the existing tooling design before installation. Do not exceed the rated maximum deflection of 43 mm, as compressing beyond this point risks permanent deformation or spring failure.
