The ASSOCIATED SPRING RAYMOND 204-108 is a heavy-duty die spring engineered for use in stamping dies, punch presses, and tooling fixtures where consistent, repeatable force is required. This spring features a trapezoidal wire cross-section, which increases load-bearing surface area compared to round-wire designs and contributes to its rated spring rate of 50.82 N/mm. The blue color coding indicates its load rating category per ISO 10243 standards. With a free length of 2 inches (51 mm) and a maximum deflection of 19.40 mm, it is well suited for moderate-force tooling applications. Tool and die makers, machine builders, and maintenance technicians are the primary installers.
This die spring is designed for use in tool-and-die assemblies, mold bases, and industrial press tooling where space-constrained, high-cycle spring performance is required. It is guided by a rod with a 5 mm diameter and fits into a hole with a 10 mm diameter. Applications include stripper plates, blank holders, and component ejection systems in metal stamping and forming operations. Its chromium alloy steel construction supports high-cycle fatigue resistance in production environments.
Designed as a standard ISO 10243 die spring replacement for tooling fixtures, mold bases, and stamping die assemblies requiring a 10 mm hole diameter, 5 mm rod diameter, and 51 mm free length in the blue load category.
Installation is typically performed by tool and die makers or maintenance technicians during die building or tooling repair. Ensure the mating hole and guide rod dimensions match the spring specifications before installation to prevent binding or premature failure. Relieve all press pressure and lock out the machine before servicing any tooling containing compressed die springs. Do not exceed the rated maximum deflection, as operating springs solid will accelerate fatigue and reduce service life.
