The ASSOCIATED SPRING RAYMOND 203-918 is a light-duty die spring designed for use in stamping dies, molds, and tooling applications where consistent, repeatable force is required. Built from chromium alloy steel, this spring features a trapezoidal wire shape that delivers higher load capacity per unit of installed length compared to round-wire springs. It has a free length of approximately 1.75 inches (115 mm), a rod diameter of 38 mm, and a hole diameter of 63 mm. The green color coding indicates light-duty load rating per ISO 10243 standards. Installation is typically performed by toolmakers and die maintenance technicians.
This die spring is suited for use in punch and die sets, injection molds, metal stamping dies, and progressive die tooling in industrial manufacturing environments. The 203-918 conforms to ISO 10243, making it a direct fit in applications engineered to that standard. It is appropriate wherever a light-duty, color-coded spring is specified in the tool design documentation. The 46 mm maximum deflection and 1,199.58 lb maximum deflection load make it a reliable choice for lower-force clamping, stripping, and ejection functions within a die assembly.
Designed as an ISO 10243-compliant replacement or direct-fit die spring for light-duty stamping dies, injection molds, and progressive die tooling applications specifying a 63 mm hole diameter, 38 mm rod diameter, and 115 mm free length in the green light-duty category.
Die springs are installed and serviced by toolmakers or die maintenance technicians during die build or scheduled maintenance. Power down and de-energize all press and hydraulic systems before accessing the die set. Springs should be inspected for set, cracking, or corrosion at each scheduled maintenance interval and replaced in matched sets when possible to maintain balanced load distribution. Do not exceed the rated maximum deflection of 46 mm during operation.
