The ASSOCIATED SPRING RAYMOND 203-612 is a heavy-duty die spring engineered for use in stamping dies, punch presses, and industrial tooling applications. It features a trapezoidal wire shape that delivers higher load capacity and improved fatigue life compared to round-wire springs of the same envelope size. The spring has a free length of 3 inches (76 mm), a hole diameter of 32 mm, and a rod diameter of 16 mm. The green color coding indicates a medium-light load class per ISO 10243 standards. Manufactured from chromium alloy steel, it is built to withstand repetitive compression cycles in demanding die and tooling environments.
This die spring is suited for use in metal stamping dies, injection mold tooling, and mechanical press assemblies where consistent spring force and precise deflection are required. The green load class is commonly specified in light-to-medium duty tooling setups where controlled deflection and reliable return force are priorities. Toolmakers, die setters, and maintenance machinists working in production stamping and fabrication shops are the primary installers of this component.
Designed as an ISO 10243-compliant die spring replacement for standard 32 mm hole diameter tooling applications accepting a 16 mm guide rod.
Die springs are installed by toolmakers or die maintenance technicians. Always de-energize and lock out the press before accessing the die set. Ensure the guide rod and hole bore are clean and within tolerance before seating the spring to prevent side loading, which accelerates fatigue failure. Never compress a die spring beyond its rated maximum deflection, as exceeding the travel-to-solid load can cause permanent set or fracture.
