The ASSOCIATED SPRING RAYMOND 203-608 is a heavy-duty die spring designed for use in stamping dies, molds, and press tooling applications. Built from chromium alloy steel with a trapezoidal wire cross-section, it delivers consistent spring force and controlled deflection under cyclic load conditions. The spring has a free length of 2 inches (51 mm), a rod diameter of 16 mm, and a hole diameter of 32 mm. At maximum deflection of 20 mm, it produces a load of 1340 newtons. The spring rate is 382.58 newtons per millimeter. The green color coding indicates its load category per ISO 10243 standards. This part is installed by tool and die makers, press operators, and maintenance machinists in metal fabrication environments.
The 203-608 is suited for use in progressive dies, compound dies, and injection molds where repeatable spring force is required. Green-coded die springs per ISO 10243 fall in the medium-heavy load range and are commonly selected for applications requiring a balance between deflection travel and load force. This spring is appropriate for both new tooling builds and replacement maintenance in existing die sets operating in hydraulic or mechanical press environments.
Designed as an ISO 10243 standard die spring for use in stamping dies, molds, and press tooling that accept a 32 mm hole diameter and 16 mm rod diameter spring in the green load category.
Die spring installation and replacement should be performed by qualified tool and die technicians or maintenance machinists with the press fully de-energized and all stored energy released before disassembly. Inspect the spring pocket and guide rod for wear, corrosion, or misalignment before installing a replacement spring. Never exceed the maximum deflection rating, as over-compression causes permanent set and premature failure. Follow the tooling manufacturer's die set specifications for preload and shut height when setting up the press.
