The ASSOCIATED SPRING RAYMOND 203-405 is a green-coded die spring designed for use in stamping dies, punch presses, and industrial tooling applications. It features a trapezoidal wire cross-section, which increases contact area and load capacity compared to round-wire springs of the same envelope size. With a free length of 1.25 inches (32 mm), a rod diameter of 10 mm, and a hole diameter of 20 mm, this spring is sized for medium-duty tooling setups. It delivers a spring rate of 256.96 N/mm and a maximum deflection load of 562.50 N at full travel. The chromium alloy steel construction provides durability under repeated cycling in die and press environments. Installation is performed by toolmakers and die maintenance technicians.
This die spring is suited for use in stamping and forming dies in both production and toolroom settings. The green color coding identifies it within the ISO 10243 heavy-load classification range, helping toolmakers quickly identify and replace springs during die maintenance. Typical applications include stripper plates, lifters, and pressure pads in progressive, compound, and transfer dies. The 20 mm hole diameter and 10 mm rod diameter make it compatible with standard die set configurations using metric rod and bore sizing.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install die spring for industrial stamping dies and press tooling requiring a 20 mm hole diameter, 10 mm rod diameter, and 32 mm free length per ISO 10243 specifications.
Die springs should be installed by qualified toolmakers or die maintenance personnel with the press fully de-energized and locked out per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Ensure the mating bore and rod diameters match the spring specifications before installation to prevent buckling or premature failure. Do not compress the spring beyond its rated maximum deflection of 12.50 mm. Inspect seating surfaces for burrs or damage that could cause uneven loading or accelerated wear.
