The ASSOCIATED SPRING RAYMOND 203-310 is a heavy-duty die spring engineered for use in stamping dies, molds, and press tooling applications. It features a trapezoidal wire cross-section, which increases load capacity and fatigue life compared to round-wire designs. The spring has a free length of 2.5 inches (64 mm), a rod diameter of 8 mm, and a hole diameter of 16 mm. Built from chromium alloy steel, it delivers consistent spring rates under repeated high-cycle loading. The green color coding indicates a specific load class per ISO 10243 standards. Licensed toolmakers, die setters, and precision machining shops are the primary installers of this component.
This die spring is suited for use in injection molds, progressive dies, forming tools, and other press tooling where controlled deflection and repeatable force are required. It performs in both light manufacturing and heavy industrial stamping environments. The 203-310 provides a maximum deflection of 26.30 mm and a maximum deflection load of 281.40 N, making it appropriate for medium-duty tooling applications. It is manufactured to ISO 10243 specifications, ensuring dimensional and performance consistency across replacement and interchangeable tooling setups.
Designed as an ISO 10243-compliant die spring with a 16 mm hole diameter and 8 mm rod diameter, suitable for stamping dies, injection molds, and press tooling that accept standard green-class die springs of this dimensional specification.
Die springs are installed by toolmakers or die setters during die assembly or maintenance. Ensure the die set is fully depressurized and the press is locked out and tagged out before removing or replacing any spring. The spring must seat squarely in its pocket without lateral binding on the guide rod. Do not compress a die spring beyond its rated maximum deflection, as overloading will shorten fatigue life and may cause premature failure.
