The ASSOCIATED SPRING RAYMOND 106-618 is a heavy-duty die spring engineered for use in stamping dies, presses, and industrial tooling applications. It features a trapezoidal wire cross-section that delivers higher load capacity and longer service life compared to round-wire springs of the same envelope size. With a 1-1/4 inch hole diameter, 5/8 inch rod diameter, and 4-1/2 inch free length, this green-coded spring handles a maximum deflection load of 882 pounds at 1.13 inches of travel. The spring rate is 835 pounds per inch. Manufactured from chromium alloy steel, it is built to withstand the high-cycle fatigue demands of die and punch tooling environments. Licensed HVAC technicians, tool-and-die machinists, and industrial maintenance professionals are the typical installers.
This die spring is suited for use in stamping dies, injection mold tooling, punch presses, and heavy industrial machinery where consistent spring force and precise deflection control are required. The green color coding identifies it as a heavy-load series spring per standard die spring classification conventions. It is sized for installation over a 5/8 inch guide rod inside a 1-1/4 inch bore, making it a direct fit in tooling designed to those dimensional standards. It is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of one.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct tooling component for stamping dies, punch presses, and mold assemblies requiring a 1-1/4 inch bore, 5/8 inch rod guide, and 4-1/2 inch free-length heavy-load die spring.
Installation is typically performed by tool-and-die machinists or industrial maintenance technicians. De-energize and lock out all press and tooling equipment before removing or installing die springs. Verify the guide rod diameter and bore clearance match the spring dimensions before seating to prevent binding or misalignment. Do not compress the spring beyond its rated maximum deflection of 1.13 inches, as overcompression will permanently reduce spring rate and shorten service life.
