The ASSOCIATED SPRING RAYMOND 106-422 is a heavy-duty die spring designed for use in stamping dies, punch presses, and tooling fixtures where consistent, high-cycle compression force is required. Built from chromium alloy steel with a trapezoidal wire cross-section, this spring delivers a spring rate of 215 lb per inch and a maximum deflection load of 295.6 pounds at 1.38 inches of travel. The green color coding indicates a heavy load classification per standard die spring conventions. It is installed and serviced by tooling engineers, die maintenance technicians, and industrial maintenance professionals.
This spring is suited for high-load die and tooling applications in both production and maintenance environments. The 3/4 inch hole diameter accommodates standard die posts, while the 3/8 inch rod diameter keeps the spring centered under dynamic load. With a free length of 5-1/2 inches, it fits a range of die set configurations requiring controlled, repeatable compression across high-volume press cycles.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit die spring for standard 3/4 inch bore die sets and tooling fixtures requiring a 3/8 inch guide rod and 5-1/2 inch free length heavy-load spring.
Die springs are installed by qualified tooling or industrial maintenance technicians. Always de-energize and lock out the press before accessing the die set. Inspect the guide rod and bore for wear, burrs, or misalignment before installing a replacement spring, as these conditions accelerate fatigue failure. Do not compress the spring beyond the rated maximum deflection of 1.38 inches during setup or operation.
