The ASSOCIATED SPRING RAYMOND 106-214 is a heavy-duty die spring engineered for use in metal stamping dies, punch presses, and industrial tooling applications. It features a trapezoidal wire cross-section that delivers higher load capacity and longer fatigue life compared to standard round-wire springs. The spring has a 0.5-inch hole diameter, a 3.5-inch free length, and a maximum deflection load of 70 pounds at 0.88 inches of travel. The green color coding follows the ISO standard designation for heavy load class. At a spring rate of 80 pounds per inch, this unit provides consistent, predictable force throughout its compression cycle. Licensed toolmakers and industrial maintenance technicians are the primary installers.
This die spring is suited for light to heavy stamping and forming tooling in both production and maintenance shop environments. It fits applications where a 0.5-inch hole diameter and a 9/32-inch rod diameter are specified by the die design. The compact 3.5-inch free length makes it practical for die sets with moderate shut height requirements. It is manufactured from chromium alloy steel to handle repeated cyclic loading without significant set or fatigue failure under normal operating conditions.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or new installation die spring for tooling applications specifying a 0.5-inch hole diameter, 9/32-inch rod diameter, and 3.5-inch free length in the heavy load (green) class.
Installation is performed by toolmakers or die maintenance technicians during die build or service. Always relieve all press tonnage and lockout the press before accessing the die set. Confirm that the mating rod diameter and pocket diameter in the die plate match the spring specifications before seating the spring. Do not compress the spring beyond its rated maximum deflection to avoid permanent set or premature failure.
