The ASSOCIATED SPRING RAYMOND 105-820 is a heavy-duty die spring engineered for high-load stamping, pressing, and tooling applications. It features a 2-inch hole diameter, a 1-inch rod diameter, and a 5-inch free length. The trapezoidal wire cross-section increases load-bearing surface area compared to round wire designs, allowing this spring to handle a maximum deflection load of 1,650 pounds with a maximum deflection of 1.5 inches. The spring rate is rated at 1,186 pounds per inch. The gold color coding identifies it as a heavy-load class spring, consistent with international die spring standards. It is manufactured from chromium alloy steel for durability under cyclic compressive loads.
This die spring is used in punch and die tooling, injection molding equipment, stamping presses, and industrial machinery where consistent, repeatable spring force is required. It is suited for both OEM tooling builds and field replacement in production environments. Maintenance technicians, tool-and-die makers, and mechanical engineers working in manufacturing or fabrication settings are the primary installers and specifiers of this component.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or OEM-spec die spring for tooling and press applications requiring a 2-inch hole diameter, 1-inch rod diameter, and 5-inch free length in the heavy-load gold classification.
Die spring replacement and installation should be performed by qualified tool-and-die technicians or mechanical maintenance personnel with the press or machinery fully de-energized, de-pressurized, and locked out per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Inspect the mounting rod and housing bore for wear or damage before installing the new spring. Do not compress the spring beyond its rated maximum deflection of 1.5 inches, as over-compression will permanently reduce service life. Verify color-code class and dimensional fitment before installation to ensure proper load characteristics for the application.
