The ASSOCIATED SPRING RAYMOND 105-104 is a heavy-duty die spring designed for use in tooling, stamping dies, and press applications where consistent force and reliable deflection are required. It features a trapezoidal wire cross-section that increases load-bearing surface area compared to round wire, allowing it to handle a maximum deflection load of 33 pounds within a maximum deflection of 0.3 inches. Constructed from chromium alloy steel, this spring delivers durability under repeated compression cycles. The gold color coding identifies it as a heavy-duty rated spring per industry standard color conventions. Toolmakers, die setters, and maintenance technicians are the primary installers of this component.
This die spring is suited for use in metal stamping dies, injection molds, jigs, fixtures, and other industrial tooling applications that demand a compact, high-cycle compression spring. The 3/8-inch hole diameter accommodates tooling bores of that size, while the 3/16-inch rod diameter allows it to be guided over a standard guide rod for controlled compression. Its 1-inch free length makes it appropriate for installations with limited cavity depth. It is applicable in both light manufacturing and heavy industrial press environments.
Designed as a standard heavy-duty die spring for use in industrial tooling, stamping dies, injection molds, and fixture applications requiring a 3/8-inch hole diameter and 3/16-inch guide rod diameter with a 1-inch free length.
Die springs are installed by toolmakers and die maintenance technicians. Always de-energize and lock out the press or machine before removing or installing die springs. The spring should be guided over a rod or within a bore to prevent buckling during compression. Do not compress the spring beyond the rated maximum deflection of 0.3 inches, as exceeding this limit will reduce service life and may cause permanent set or failure.
