The ASSOCIATED SPRING RAYMOND 104-810 is a heavy-duty die spring engineered for use in metal stamping, punching, and forming tooling applications. It features a 2 inch hole diameter, a 1 inch rod diameter, and a free length of 2-1/2 inches. The trapezoidal wire shape delivers a higher load capacity compared to round-wire springs of the same envelope size. With a maximum deflection load of 1,095.2 pounds and a spring rate of 1,184 pounds per inch, this red-coded spring is rated for heavy-load service. Constructed from chromium alloy steel, it is built to resist fatigue under high-cycle press tooling conditions. Licensed toolmakers, die setters, and machine builders are the primary installers.
This die spring is suited for use in hydraulic and mechanical press tooling, stripper plates, die cushions, and cam return mechanisms in both production stamping and short-run tooling environments. The red color code designates heavy load per standard die spring classification, making it straightforward to identify and replace in multi-spring tooling assemblies. It is appropriate for both OEM die builds and field replacement in existing tooling where matching spring rate and envelope dimensions are required.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or OEM-spec die spring for tooling assemblies requiring a 2 inch hole diameter, 1 inch rod diameter, and 2-1/2 inch free length with heavy-load (red) rating.
Die springs of this type are installed and serviced by toolmakers, die setters, and maintenance technicians working on stamping or forming presses. Always de-energize and lock out the press before removing or replacing die springs. Springs should be seated squarely on the rod and within the pocket to prevent buckling under load. Do not compress a die spring beyond its rated maximum deflection, as exceeding this limit accelerates fatigue failure.
