The ASSOCIATED SPRING RAYMOND 104-524 is a medium heavy-duty die spring designed for use in stamping dies, punch presses, and other high-cycle tooling applications. Built from chromium alloy steel with a trapezoidal wire shape, this spring delivers a spring rate of 125.00 pounds per inch and a maximum deflection load of 266.4 pounds over a maximum deflection of 2.22 inches. The 1 inch hole diameter and 1/2 inch rod diameter allow straightforward drop-in mounting to standard die sets. Licensed HVAC and mechanical trades as well as tooling and maintenance professionals handle installation in industrial press and fixture applications.
This die spring is suited for medium heavy-duty tooling environments including metal stamping dies, injection mold tooling, and precision fixtures where consistent spring force and repeatable deflection are required. The red color coding identifies the medium heavy-duty duty rating per ISO and industry-standard die spring classifications, making it easy to sort and verify during die setup and maintenance. The 6 inch free length provides adequate working travel for deeper die sets and multi-stage tooling configurations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit die spring for standard 1 inch bore die sets accepting a 1/2 inch guide rod, consistent with ISO and industry-standard die spring dimensional specifications.
Die spring replacement and die set servicing should be performed by qualified tooling technicians or maintenance personnel with the press locked out and de-energized per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Always verify that the replacement spring hole diameter, rod diameter, free length, and duty rating match the original tooling specification before installation. Do not compress the spring beyond the rated maximum deflection of 2.22 inches. Inspect the guide rod and bore for wear or damage before seating the new spring.
