The ASSOCIATED SPRING RAYMOND 104-407 is a medium heavy-duty die spring engineered for use in stamping dies, presses, and tooling fixtures that demand consistent, repeatable force across high-cycle operations. Built from chromium alloy steel with a trapezoidal wire cross-section, this spring delivers a maximum deflection load of 186.5 pounds over a maximum deflection of 0.65 inches, with a spring rate of 270 pounds per inch. The red color band indicates medium heavy-duty duty rating per standard die spring classifications. Licensed HVAC, tooling, and mechanical trades will recognize this as a drop-in specification-matched replacement for precision die and punch press applications.
This die spring is suited for installation in metal stamping dies, injection mold tooling, and mechanical press fixtures where controlled compression and recovery force is critical. With a 0.75-inch hole diameter and 0.375-inch rod diameter, it fits standard die sets within those bore and rod dimensions. Free length of 1.75 inches makes it appropriate for compact tooling assemblies with limited spring pocket depth. Manufactured under ISO 9001 and ISO/TS 16949 quality systems, it is appropriate for both production tooling and maintenance replacement scenarios in industrial and manufacturing environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement die spring for tooling applications requiring a 0.75-inch hole diameter, 0.375-inch rod diameter, and 1.75-inch free length in a medium heavy-duty red-class spring.
Installation is performed by tooling technicians or mechanical maintenance personnel during die setup or press maintenance. Power down and lock out all press or mold equipment before removing or seating any die spring. Inspect the spring pocket bore and rod for wear or damage before installing the replacement spring. Never compress the spring beyond its rated maximum deflection of 0.65 inches during setup or operation.
