The ASSOCIATED SPRING RAYMOND 103-724 is a medium-duty die spring engineered for use in stamping dies, punch presses, and tooling fixtures. It features a 1-1/2 inch hole diameter, a 3/4 inch rod diameter, and a 6 inch free length, making it a direct-fit option for standard die sets requiring controlled compression travel. The trapezoidal wire profile delivers a higher load capacity per unit length compared to round wire springs of the same size. Manufactured from chromium alloy steel, this spring handles repeated compression cycles in demanding industrial tooling environments. Installation and replacement are typically performed by toolroom machinists or die maintenance technicians.
This spring is suited for die and mold tooling applications where consistent force and deflection control are required. With a maximum deflection of 3 inches and a maximum deflection load of 510 pounds, it provides firm, predictable resistance throughout the compression stroke. The blue color coding follows the industry standard medium-duty designation, allowing quick visual identification during die maintenance and spring replacement. It fits standard die sets accepting a 1-1/2 inch bore and a 3/4 inch guide rod.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit die spring for standard tooling fixtures, punch press dies, and mold sets that accept a 1-1/2 inch hole diameter and a 3/4 inch guide rod diameter.
Die spring replacement is performed by qualified toolroom or die maintenance personnel with the press or tooling machine fully de-energized and locked out per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Ensure the guide rod and bore are free of burrs, debris, and misalignment before seating the spring to prevent premature coil binding or uneven wear. Do not compress the spring beyond its rated maximum deflection of 3 inches. Inspect mating tooling components for wear during each spring replacement interval.
