The ASSOCIATED SPRING RAYMOND 103-305 is a medium-duty die spring engineered for use in stamping dies, punch presses, and similar tooling applications. Built from chromium alloy steel with a trapezoidal wire profile, it delivers a spring rate of 124 pounds per inch and handles a maximum deflection load of 80 pounds over a maximum deflection of 0.63 inches. The free length is 1.25 inches, the hole diameter is 0.625 inches, and the rod diameter is 0.34375 inches. The blue color coding identifies this as a medium-duty unit per standard die spring classification. Toolmakers, die setters, and machine shop technicians are the typical installers.
This spring is suited for medium-duty cycling in industrial press tooling, injection mold assemblies, and mechanical jigs where consistent return force and compact envelope size are required. The trapezoidal wire cross-section allows higher load capacity within a given outside diameter compared to round-wire springs of the same size. Its compact 1.25-inch free length makes it practical for tight die sets with limited pocket depth. It is sold individually and is appropriate for both new tooling builds and replacement of worn or fatigued springs in existing assemblies.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-build component for medium-duty die spring applications requiring a 0.625-inch hole diameter and 0.34375-inch rod diameter with a 1.25-inch free length.
Die spring replacement and installation is performed by toolmakers or qualified machine shop personnel. Power down and lock out the press or machine before removing or installing any die components. Ensure the spring pocket depth and rod clearance match the free length and rod diameter of this spring before installation. Do not compress this spring beyond its rated maximum deflection of 0.63 inches, as over-compression will accelerate fatigue and reduce service life.
