The ASHCROFT 83227 is a liquid-filled industrial pressure gauge designed for accurate pressure monitoring in demanding trade and industrial applications. It features a 3.5-inch analog dial with a 0 to 100 psi range and a compound scale that extends down to -30 inches Hg vacuum. The stainless steel case carries a Grade 304/316 rating, and the Bourdon tube is 316 stainless steel for corrosion resistance. Accuracy is rated at 1 percent of full scale. The glycerin or silicone fill dampens needle vibration and protects internal components, making this gauge well suited for systems with pressure pulsation or mechanical shock. Licensed HVAC technicians, plumbers, and pipefitters are the typical installers.
This gauge fits residential and commercial applications where a reliable, vibration-resistant pressure indicator is needed. Common install scenarios include boiler systems, chilled water loops, compressed air lines, hydraulic circuits, and refrigerant recovery equipment manifolds. The lower-mount, 1/4-inch NPT connection allows direct installation into existing pipe taps or manifold ports without additional fittings in most cases. The polycarbonate lens resists impact and provides a clear view of the dial under field conditions.

Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber, pipefitter, or HVAC technician in accordance with applicable local codes and ASME B40.100 gauge installation guidelines. Isolate and depressurize the system fully before removing an existing gauge or threading in this unit. Apply thread sealant tape or pipe dope to the male NPT threads and hand-tighten before using a wrench to avoid cross-threading. Do not overtighten the connection, as this can crack the socket or distort the Bourdon tube.
