The ASC ENGINEERED SOLUTIONS 8700126801 is a 1-1/2 inch, 45-degree malleable iron elbow with a galvanized finish, also referred to as a 1/8 bend. It is a flat-banded fitting designed to change pipe direction in low-pressure piping systems. The galvanized coating provides corrosion resistance in exposed or moderately harsh environments. Manufactured to standard malleable iron fitting dimensions, this elbow is installed by licensed plumbers and pipefitters in commercial and residential piping applications. At 1.169 pounds, it is a full-weight, code-compliant fitting suited for threaded iron pipe systems.
This 45-degree elbow is used in threaded pipe assemblies where a gradual directional change is required instead of a sharp 90-degree turn. Typical applications include water supply, steam, gas distribution, and general industrial piping. The flat-banded body profile is consistent with standard catalog malleable iron fittings found throughout mechanical rooms, boiler rooms, and utility piping installations in both new construction and retrofit work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1-1/2 inch threaded malleable iron pipe systems conforming to ANSI B-16.3 standard dimensions.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters following applicable IPC or IFGC requirements for the intended service. Shut off and depressurize the pipe system completely before disassembling or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly and tighten to a snug, leak-free fit using pipe wrenches. Do not over-torque malleable iron fittings, as the material can crack under excessive force.
