The ASC ENGINEERED SOLUTIONS 390060747 is a FIG 7307 series HDPE transition coupling designed to join grooved-end HDPE pipe in mechanical piping systems. Built from ductile iron with a rust-inhibiting orange painted finish, this coupling accommodates pipe with a 6-5/8 inch outside diameter at a nominal 6 inch size. It carries an EPDM gasket rated for service from -30 to 230 degrees F, making it suitable for a broad range of fluid temperatures in commercial and industrial installations. The hardware package includes four zinc electroplated 5/8 by 3-1/2 inch bolts, zinc electroplated heavy hex nuts, and zinc coated hardened steel washers for a complete, ready-to-install assembly. Licensed pipefitters and plumbing contractors install this fitting as part of grooved mechanical joining systems.
This coupling is specifically intended for use on HDPE pipes where a grooved-end transition connection is required. At 11-1/8 inches in length and 3-3/4 inches in thickness, it fits within standard mechanical room and underground utility installations where grooved coupling systems are specified. Typical applications include industrial process piping, water distribution, and HVAC chilled or heating water mains that incorporate HDPE piping sections transitioning to grooved metallic pipe or equipment.
Designed for use with HDPE pipes at 6 inch nominal size with a 6-5/8 inch outside diameter, using a grooved end connection style. Intended as a transition coupling where HDPE piping interfaces with grooved mechanical joining systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed pipefitter or journeyman plumber in accordance with applicable mechanical and plumbing codes. Depressurize and drain the piping system completely before disassembly or fitting installation. Verify pipe ends are properly grooved to the manufacturer specification before seating the gasket and housing. Torque bolts evenly in an alternating pattern until the housing pads are metal-to-metal as required by the grooved coupling installation procedure.
