The ASC ENGINEERED SOLUTIONS 390060143 is a FIG 7305 series grooved coupling designed for use with 6-inch nominal HDPE piping systems. Constructed from ductile iron with a rust-inhibiting orange painted finish, this coupling provides a secure, grooved-end mechanical connection suitable for demanding piping installations. The EPDM gasket delivers a temperature-rated seal from -30 to 230 degrees F, making it appropriate for both chilled and moderately heated fluid systems. Each unit ships as a complete assembly including zinc electroplated bolts, heavy hex nuts, zinc-coated hardened steel washers, and a Grade E green EPDM gasket, reducing the need for sourcing separate hardware. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of grooved mechanical couplings in commercial and industrial piping systems.
This coupling is intended for HDPE pipe applications where a grooved mechanical joint is specified. With a 6-5/8-inch OD and 5-7/8-inch width dimension, and an overall length of 11 inches, the FIG 7305 fits 6-inch nominal grooved pipe ends. It is commonly used in commercial fire protection, HVAC hydronic, and industrial process piping where HDPE pipe is run and a grooved coupling system is required. The ductile iron body and EPDM gasket combination makes this coupling suitable for wet, pressurized service in a broad range of fluid-handling environments.
Designed for use with 6-inch nominal HDPE pipes with grooved ends per the FIG 7305 series specification.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter following applicable IPC and local mechanical code requirements. Depressurize and isolate the piping system fully before disassembly or coupling installation. Ensure pipe ends are properly cut, reamed, and grooved to the correct profile before seating the gasket and closing the coupling halves. Tighten the bolts evenly and alternately to avoid cocking the gasket and compromising the seal.
