The ASC Engineered Solutions 310050208 is a black malleable iron reducing tee designed for threaded pipe assemblies in plumbing and piping systems. It connects three pipe runs with female pipe thread (FPT) ports sized at 2 inches, 1.5 inches, and 1.25 inches, allowing a main run reduction or branch takeoff in a single fitting. Manufactured to ASME B16.3 dimensional and pressure rating standards, this tee is built to standard (STD) strength specifications. The black finish is typical for gas piping and industrial plumbing applications. UL and FM listed, it meets requirements for use in fire protection and fuel gas piping systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers.
This reducing tee is suited for residential and light commercial piping installations where different pipe sizes must be joined at a tee junction. Common applications include natural gas distribution lines, propane supply piping, and black iron plumbing rough-in work. The FPT connections on all three ports accept standard tapered male pipe threads per ASME B1.20.1. Its standard-strength malleable iron construction is appropriate for overhead and in-wall piping runs where a code-compliant threaded fitting is required.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded reducing tee for standard black iron pipe systems using NPT connections in residential and commercial plumbing and gas piping installations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local codes, the International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC), or the International Plumbing Code (IPC) as appropriate. Shut off gas or water supply and relieve system pressure completely before disassembling any threaded connections. Apply an approved pipe thread sealant or PTFE tape to all male threads before assembly. Do not over-tighten; use a pipe wrench on the fitting body, not on connected pipe, to avoid stressing adjacent joints.
