The ASC Engineered Solutions 300155801 is a black cast iron eccentric reducing coupling designed for joining pipes of two different nominal diameters in a single threaded connection. Manufactured under the Ward Mfg product line, this fitting transitions from a 2-1/2 inch nominal inlet to a 1-1/4 inch nominal outlet using National Pipe Straight (NPS) threaded ends. Rated at 125 lb pressure class and conforming to ASME B16.4 dimensional standards, it is suited for general-purpose piping systems where an offset centerline between the two pipe runs is required. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this type of fitting.
This eccentric reducing coupling is used in residential and light commercial piping applications including water distribution, drain and vent systems, and industrial process lines where gravity drainage alignment is critical. The eccentric design keeps the bottom of the pipe bore level, which helps maintain proper flow and drainage pitch across the reduction. It is a domestically manufactured fitting and carries certifications meeting several ASME, ASTM, and federal standards.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded reducer for cast iron NPS piping systems rated at 125 lb pressure class in residential and commercial plumbing and mechanical applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and applicable local codes. Shut off and depressurize the piping system completely before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an approved pipe thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly. Do not over-tighten cast iron fittings, as the material is not ductile and can crack under excessive torque.
