The ASC ENGINEERED SOLUTIONS 300153608 is a cast iron eccentric reducing coupling designed for threaded pipe systems operating at up to 125 lb pressure class. Sized at 1-1/2 x 1-1/4 inches nominal with female NPT (FNPT) ends, this fitting connects two pipes of differing diameters while keeping one side of the bore flat, which is critical for maintaining proper drainage slope and preventing air pockets in horizontal runs. The eccentric offset design is a standard choice in HVAC hydronic piping, steam systems, and industrial plumbing. A licensed plumber or pipefitter typically handles installation in commercial and residential mechanical systems.
This eccentric reducer fits into Schedule 40 standard-wall threaded pipe assemblies and is rated for service from -20 to 150 degrees F. Depressurize and drain the pipe system fully before removing any existing fittings or installing this coupling. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male pipe threads before makeup. Do not over-torque threaded connections in cast iron fittings, as the material is not ductile and can crack under excessive force.
