The ASC Engineered Solutions 3.BMT is a 3-inch black malleable iron pipe tee rated for 150 lb service. It features female National Pipe Taper (FNPT) threads on all three outlets, allowing a straight run connection with a branch takeoff at 90 degrees. Malleable iron construction provides the ductility and strength needed for threaded piping systems in demanding environments. This fitting is domestically manufactured and carries a black finish standard for gas distribution and industrial piping applications. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC-R technicians regularly specify this class of fitting for low-pressure steam, gas, air, and water distribution systems.
The 3.BMT is suited for residential and light commercial piping installations where a 3-inch branch connection is required. Common applications include natural gas supply mains, compressed air distribution headers, hydronic heating mains, and industrial process piping. The 150 lb pressure class makes it appropriate for low-pressure steam and standard water or gas service within that pressure rating. Its FNPT connections accept standard threaded black iron pipe, making it straightforward to source compatible pipe and fittings from the same product family.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting compatible with standard 3-inch schedule threaded black iron pipe systems rated to 150 lb service class.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber, pipefitter, or qualified HVAC technician in accordance with the International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC), International Plumbing Code (IPC), or applicable local codes. Shut off and depressurize the piping system completely before cutting into or threading onto any existing line. Apply a listed pipe thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for the intended service medium to all male threads before assembly. Do not over-torque threaded connections, as malleable iron threads can crack if stressed beyond proper engagement depth.
