The ASC ENGINEERED SOLUTIONS 2X1B.NMC is a malleable iron pipe reducing coupling rated at 150 lb, designed to transition between a 2-inch nominal pipe and a 1-1/4-inch nominal pipe within a threaded piping system. Both ends feature female National Pipe Taper (FNPT) threads for secure, leak-resistant connections. A galvanized finish provides corrosion resistance in wet or exposed environments. This fitting is domestically manufactured and is installed by licensed plumbers and pipefitters working on gas distribution, water supply, or industrial piping systems.
This reducing coupling is used in residential and commercial piping applications where a threaded line must step down in diameter. Typical scenarios include branch supply lines, equipment connections, and service drops where flow is directed from a 2-inch main to a 1-1/4-inch run. The galvanized malleable iron construction makes it suitable for above-ground gas piping, compressed air systems, and general-purpose water lines where moderate pressure and mechanical durability are required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting compatible with standard 150 lb malleable iron threaded piping systems using 2-inch and 1-1/4-inch nominal pipe sizes per ASME B16.3 standards.
This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters. Shut off and depressurize the line completely before removing any existing fitting or making new connections. Apply appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly, and tighten using a properly sized pipe wrench. On gas piping systems, all work must conform to the International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC) and applicable local codes.
