The ASC Engineered Solutions 1DX1X1.NMT is a malleable iron pipe reducing tee finished with a hot-dip galvanized coating for corrosion resistance. It features a 1-1/2-inch run with 1-inch branch and outlet connections, all threaded female NPT (FNPT) for standard threaded pipe assembly. Rated at 150 lb, this fitting is built for use in gas, steam, air, and water distribution systems where a reducing branch connection is required. Domestically manufactured, it meets the dimensional and material standards expected for commercial and industrial piping work. Plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors are the primary installers of this type of fitting.
This reducing tee is suited for residential and light commercial piping applications including natural gas distribution, compressed air lines, steam systems, and potable or non-potable water service. The 1-1/2 x 1 x 1 inch configuration allows a main run to step down to a smaller branch line in a single fitting, reducing the number of components and joints in the system. It is commonly used wherever a threaded malleable iron fitting is specified on a mechanical drawing or required by the local plumbing or gas code.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded replacement or new-installation fitting for 150 lb malleable iron piping systems using standard NPT threaded pipe in 1-1/2 inch and 1 inch nominal sizes.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local codes, the International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC), or the International Plumbing Code (IPC) depending on the service. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before disassembling any threaded connections. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape to male threads before assembly and tighten to hand-tight plus wrench-tight turns as required for the pipe size and service medium. Do not over-torque malleable iron fittings, as the material is not as ductile as steel and can crack under excessive force.
