The ASC Engineered Solutions 1BX1.NMT is a malleable iron reducing tee designed for threaded pipe assemblies in gas, water, and general plumbing distribution systems. It features a 1-1/4 x 1-1/4 x 1 inch reducing configuration with female national pipe taper (FNPT) threads on all three outlets. Rated at 150 lb, it is built for moderate-pressure service in residential and light commercial installations. The galvanized finish provides corrosion resistance in exposed or mildly corrosive environments. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers for this type of fitting in new construction and retrofit piping work.
This reducing tee suits applications where a branch line steps down from a 1-1/4 inch run to a 1 inch branch, such as gas distribution manifolds, domestic water supply headers, compressed air lines, and steam piping within the 150 lb pressure class. Its domestic manufacture supports project specifications that require domestically produced fittings. The FNPT thread pattern accepts standard NPT-threaded pipe and nipples, making it compatible with common black iron, galvanized steel, and brass pipe stock found in most trade supply inventories.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded fitting replacement or new-installation component for 150 lb class malleable iron piping systems using standard NPT-threaded pipe and fittings.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local codes, the International Plumbing Code (IPC), or the International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC) as required by the service type. Shut off and depressurize the line completely before disassembling or threading new fittings. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly. Do not over-torque malleable iron fittings, as the material can crack under excessive force.
