The ASC ENGINEERED SOLUTIONS 8700125506 is a 1-inch by 3/4-inch 90-degree reducing elbow, also known as a quarter bend, made from malleable iron with a galvanized finish. It is designed to change flow direction while reducing pipe size in threaded piping systems. The flat banded body meets Federal Specification WW-P-521F, ANSI B-16.3 for dimensions, ANSI B-2.1 for pipe threads, and ASTM A-197 for chemical and physical properties. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in commercial and residential piping layouts where directional changes and diameter reductions occur at the same point.
This reducing elbow is suited for use in threaded galvanized iron piping systems in water distribution, HVAC hydronic lines, and general-purpose plumbing applications. It is used where a 90-degree turn and a one-step pipe reduction from 1 inch to 3/4 inch are both required, eliminating the need for a separate reducing coupling. Typical installations include building mechanical rooms, boiler rooms, and overhead pipe runs where space and fittings count are factors.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting compatible with standard 1-inch and 3/4-inch NPT threaded galvanized or black iron piping systems that conform to ANSI B-16.3 dimensions.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter. Shut off water supply and depressurize the line before removing any existing fitting. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to male threads before assembly and tighten to hand-tight plus wrench-tight per standard practice. Inspect threads for damage before installing to ensure a leak-free joint.
