The ASAHI 1728085 is an 8-inch concentric wafer-style butterfly valve built for general-service fluid control in commercial and residential plumbing and pool systems. The body and disc are constructed from PVC, a corrosion-resistant and chemical-resistant thermoplastic resin suited for water service. An EPDM liner and EPDM O-ring provide a reliable seal across a media temperature range of 30 degrees F to 120 degrees F. The stainless steel stem resists corrosion in wet environments. Rated to 150 psi cold working pressure (CWP), this valve handles demanding flow applications with a flow coefficient (Cv) of 2,500. Licensed plumbers and pool service technicians are the primary installers of this valve.
The 1728085 is part of the ASAHI Pool-Pro valve series, designed for water service in pool, spa, and general plumbing installations. The wafer-style body mounts between ANSI Class 150 flanges using 8 bolt holes, making it suitable for inline installation on 8-inch pipe systems. It is appropriate for residential and commercial pool mechanical rooms, water treatment piping, and general water distribution lines where PVC construction is specified. The lever handle includes 19 stop positions and a disc position indicator for quick visual confirmation of valve status.
Designed for 8-inch pipe systems using ANSI Class 150 flange connections. Intended for water service applications within the Pool-Pro series specifications. Consult ASAHI documentation to confirm fitment with specific piping configurations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pool systems technician in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes. Depressurize and drain the line completely before removing or installing the valve. Verify flange bolt torque and gasket seating against the flange class rating and the valve manufacturer instructions. Do not exceed the rated CWP of 150 psi or operate outside the media temperature range of 30 degrees F to 120 degrees F.
