The ARMOR COAT UST235881 is a 6-32 socket cap screw designed for fastening applications that demand a low-profile, high-strength connection. Machined from alloy steel and finished with an Armor Coat protective coating, this screw resists corrosion and wear in service environments where bare steel would degrade. The socket cap head accepts a 7/64-inch hex key drive, allowing installation in tight spaces where a standard hex or Phillips driver cannot reach. The screw is fully threaded along its 3/8-inch length under head, providing maximum thread engagement in thin materials. Electricians, HVAC technicians, and mechanical contractors use socket cap screws like this one when assembling panels, brackets, and equipment enclosures.
This fastener is suited for light mechanical assemblies, electrical enclosures, HVAC equipment panels, and general trade applications requiring a 6-32 threaded fastener. The fully threaded design makes it particularly useful in thin sheet metal and tapped hole applications where partial threading would reduce holding strength. The Armor Coat finish adds a layer of corrosion resistance appropriate for interior and light-duty service environments. This SKU is sold individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 100 pieces, making it appropriate for bulk service stock or assembly line use.
Designed as a standard 6-32 socket cap screw for use in any application requiring a 6-32 threaded fastener with a hex socket drive and socket cap head profile.
Install using a 7/64-inch hex key or matching bit driver; do not substitute a larger or smaller key size as it will damage the socket recess. De-energize any electrical equipment before fastening or removing screws in or near live panels, following applicable NEC requirements. Verify that the mating tapped hole is clean and free of debris before threading to avoid cross-threading in small-diameter fasteners. Do not exceed the torque capacity of the 6-32 thread specification for the given material and application.
