The ARLINGTON INDUSTRIES 858A is an insulated 90-degree flexible conduit connector designed for use in electrical wiring applications where a right-angle transition is required between flexible conduit and an electrical box or enclosure. The insulated throat protects wire insulation from abrasion at the point of entry, reducing the risk of damage during pull-through and over the life of the installation. This connector is sold individually and is installed by licensed electricians in both residential and light commercial wiring work.
This connector is suited for installations where flexible metallic or non-metallic conduit must terminate at a junction box, panel, or enclosure at a 90-degree angle. The 90-degree body allows routing in tight spaces where a straight connector would require a sharp conduit bend. Common applications include equipment connections, motor terminations, and any raceway layout where space constraints prevent a straight run to the enclosure knockout.
Designed as an OEM-style fitting for use with flexible conduit systems in standard electrical enclosure knockouts typical of residential and light commercial installations.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). De-energize the circuit and verify with a meter before beginning work at the enclosure. Secure the connector firmly into the knockout before pulling conductors through to avoid shifting that could damage wire insulation. Inspect the insulated throat for any nicks or deformation prior to installing conductors.
