The ARLINGTON 554 is a zinc diecast split grounding bushing designed for use on 1-1/2 inch trade size conduit. It provides a reliable grounding connection between metal conduit and enclosures, ensuring continuity of the equipment grounding path in electrical installations. The split design allows the bushing to be installed without threading onto the conduit end, making it adaptable to both threaded and unthreaded Rigid and IMC conduit. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors install this type of hardware during new construction and retrofit work.
This bushing is suited for residential and commercial electrical installations where Rigid or IMC conduit systems are used. The split construction simplifies installation at conduit termination points such as enclosures, panels, and junction boxes, especially in situations where the conduit cannot be easily rotated. It is commonly used when grounding continuity must be maintained at conduit-to-enclosure connections in compliance with NEC requirements.
Designed for use with 1-1/2 inch trade size Rigid and IMC conduit systems.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician. De-energize the circuit and panel before working at any conduit termination point. The split bushing is seated at the conduit end and secured to maintain the grounding connection per NEC grounding and bonding requirements. Do not substitute this bushing for insulating bushings where insulated fittings are required by code.
