The AQUECOIL hhu-am-2 is a hydronic heating unit designed to work alongside a residential air handler and a hot water source to deliver space heating without a furnace or heat pump. The unit mounts directly over the air handler discharge or return opening and extracts BTUs from the hot water supply, then uses the air handler blower to distribute heated air through the conditioned space. It is built with a heavy-duty rust-proof aluminum cabinet, a baked enamel finish, and full rigid foam insulation for durable, efficient field installation. Licensed HVAC technicians install this unit in both horizontal and vertical configurations.
The hhu-am-2 is sized for 2-3 ton air handlers and suits residential space heating applications where a gas-fired water heater, boiler, or other hot water source is already present or planned. It is a practical alternative to conventional heating equipment in systems where hydronic heat is preferred or where adding a furnace or heat pump is not feasible. Heat output is adjustable to match the load requirements of the conditioned space. Optional circulation pump accessories in 230-volt or 115-volt configurations allow direct connection to existing air handler wiring and controls.
Designed to fit directly onto Bosch 2-3 ton air handlers in residential heating applications; compatible with any hot water source with sufficient BTUH capacity, including gas-fired water heaters and boilers.
Installation of the hhu-am-2 should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician familiar with hydronic and forced-air systems. Shut off the hot water supply and disconnect power to the air handler before beginning installation. Verify that the water source provides adequate BTUH output to meet the heating load before commissioning. Follow all applicable local mechanical codes and the manufacturer installation instructions for pump wiring and valve connections.
