The AQUALINE GPLUG-050 is a 1/2-inch threaded galvanized plug used to seal and cap off pipe openings in plumbing, HVAC, and light industrial piping systems. The galvanized steel construction resists corrosion, making it a reliable choice for both wet and dry service environments. The male threaded design allows it to thread directly into a female-threaded fitting or pipe end, providing a secure, leak-resistant closure. Weighing just 0.12 pounds, this plug is compact and straightforward to install. Plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians routinely use plugs of this type to isolate sections of pipe, cap test ports, or permanently close unused branch outlets.
The GPLUG-050 is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing and HVAC piping applications where a 1/2-inch NPT male threaded plug is required. Common uses include capping off tee branches, sealing drain or test ports, and closing pipe ends during system modification or repair. The galvanized finish provides added durability in applications where moisture contact is expected.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and general-use fitting compatible with standard 1/2-inch female NPT threaded pipe connections in residential and light commercial plumbing and HVAC piping systems.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified HVAC technicians following applicable IPC and IFGC code requirements. Shut off system pressure and drain the line before installing or removing any threaded plug. Apply thread sealant tape or compound to the male threads prior to installation to ensure a leak-free seal. Do not overtighten, as this can damage the female fitting threads.
